The Muslims are coming over the wall
A government supported by fear will always fall C C#7 C7 Edim B7
A government supported by fear will always fall
The Christians are coming over the wall
The Christians are coming over the wall
A government supported by fear will always fall
A government supported by fear will always fall
The sting of the power of money Em B
Is terrorizing the world
It's a heroin sting with a numbing effect Em G
It's the emotions that you never feel Em B7
The sting of the power of money
Is terrorizing the world
It's an opium sting with a numbing effect
It the emotions that you fear
The Israeli's are carefully building a wall
The Israeli's are carefully building a wall
A government supported by fear will always fall
A government supported by fear will always fall
The Muslims are coming over the wall
The Christians are coming over the wall
And the Hindu's and the Buddhists are carefully teaching us all
That a government supported by fear will always fall...

Nothing of the Rain
03:41
|

I heard nothing of the rain
I heard nothing of the rain Em A 6 add9
A 6/9 or
F# m11 OR Gb m11
I passed the night just like my life
Avoiding all the pain
I heard nothing of the rain
I heard nothing of the snow
I passed the day just like my life
Avoiding everyone I know
I heard nothing of the snow
I heard nothing from the wind
I passed the night just like my life
Avoiding everything
I heard nothing from the wind
But I can listen to the shadows G B
And I can hear the moonbeams cry
And I see the colors while the music flies by G B F#
And I try to read between the lines G B7

My shirt is made of raindrops
My shirt is made of raindrops
My face is colored by tears
All my dreams are fading
Listen to them can’t you hear?
I can’t seem to elevate
Above the cascade of fears
The power of my innocence
Has faded through the years
I wonder if you love me
I wonder if you hear
I wonder what it is you do
When you are not near
Stranger things have happened
When losing sight of love
Tragedies and incidents
Come raining from above
Sunshine washes out the rain
Fades away the tears
Colors my shirt with violet splashes
Fades my pain into faint ashes
(Far away a child is playing
Her innocence and raindrops together making
Dreams of love and heartaches fade away…
She wants her parents to be lovers again
Sighing while she is thinking fondly of them
And the beginnings of love
When everything was just right)
My shirt is made of raindrops
My face is colored by tears
Daddy, I miss living with you
Listen to me, can’t you hear?
My shirt is made of raindrops
My face is colored by tears
All my dreams are fading
Listen to them can’t you hear?

Three Blue Flowers

Three blue flowers in the fork of a tree
Three blue flowers in the fork of a tree D# maj7 / A# OR Eb maj7 / Bb then G9
Singing, screaming, waving at me
Asking, answering everything
Three blue flowers in the fork of a tree
Three blue flowers in the fork of a tree C
Loving, living, laughing with me G C
Asking, answering everything C
Three blue flowers in the fork of a tree G C
Stop fighting for the good life A 6 add11 or D maj9
Let the good life fight for you (no match change f# on e sting to f)) A
Stop fighting for the good life
Let the good life fight for you
Don’t worry about the good life
Let the good life worry about you
Three blue flowers in the fork of a tree
Time passing slowly, taunting me
It asks then it answers everything
Three blue flowers in the fork of a tree
Three blue flowers in the fork of a tree
The people that I left have returned love to me
I asked then they answered everything
Three blue flowers in the fork of a tree
Don’t worry about the good life
Let the good life worry about you
Stop looking for that perfect life
That will be the end of you
Start fighting for some free time
Get a rest from what’s killing you
Stop fighting for the good life
Let the good life fight for you
Stop fighting for the good life
Let the good life fight for you

Living in the Sun
02:38
|
|||
I’m still living in the sun
The days were longer B7 E
And the weekends were mild
Back when I was
A little child
That’s when I was living in the sun A B7 E
That’s when I was living in the sun
(I remember) The middle of winter B7
And the center of spring
The cool of the fall
And what the (F#m) summers would bring
That’s when I was living in the sun
That’s when I was living in the sun
I’m not always happy A Am E
I’m not always down
I’m not depressed
I don’t (B7) live on a cloud
I was living in the sun
I was living in the sun
Now the days are shorter
And I live in a crowd
Everyone tries hard
To bring me down
But
I’m still living in the sun
I’m still living in the sun
I’m not always happy
I’m not always down
I’m not depressed
I don’t live on a cloud
And
I’m still living in the sun
I’m still living in the sun

Three Paintings and an Old Photograph Smile
Three Paintings and an Old Photograph Smile
What’s left over from a love
And eleven years of trials
The first two years floated by on a cloud
The next three years were not quite so loud
In the next year we had a beautiful child
In the seventh year the doubts crept in from the wild
She said: I wonder if I’ll ever look so / good again
Where can I find that first year
/ I need a friend
Three Paintings and an Old Photograph Smile
What’s left over from a love
And eleven years of trials
In the eighth year the politics of war settled in
In the ninth the ending was beginning to begin
In the tenth I settled down, to occupy my mind
To keep it away from the ravages of time
By the eleventh year we both could have / mailed it in
Now she is ready to find that first year / over again
Three paintings and an old photograph smile
They replace me completely
At..least for a while

When Can We Rest?
03:47
|
|||
When can we rest?
When can we rest?
Said the people to their shadows
Pleading for comfort from the battles
Waiting for deliverance from their rivals
While standing in the sun
When can we rest?
Said the people to their possessions
All said while pleading for directions
Waiting for an ending to exertion
While burning in the sun
When can we rest?
Said the people to their angels
They are looking to their savoir
They need an end to all the danger
They cannot get it done
When can we rest?
Cried the people to their angels
But they will not change their behaviors
They are depending on their savoir
While they stay on the run
When can we rest?
We want deliverance from desertion
Waiting for words from institutions
As we plead for restitution
And a permanent resolution, one that
We can live with
When can we rest?
We dream of spirits in transition, we’re
In a difficult position while we
Wait for rescission and the
Lasting decision
One that we can live with
When can we rest?
When can we rest?

Honey, you think too much
When I ask you for some time
And you try to guess what’s on my mind
Honey, you think too much
When I bring you some red flowers
And you worship their magic powers
Honey, you think too much
When I ask you to go for a walk
And I say let’s have a talk
Honey, you think too much
All I want for you
Is everything you need
I’ll bring anything you ask for
I do anything you please
All I want from you
Is to feel your loving touch
And when you ask what I mean by that
I say, Honey, you think too much
I want your loving touch
(You think too much)
You smell the flowers rush
(You think too much)
You dream of magical powers
(You think too much)
Give me the evening hours
(You think too much)
We take a walk together
(You think too much)
I use the touch of a feather
(You think too much)
Then there’s that date I forgot
(You think too much)
We took another walk
(You think too much)
Honey, you think too much (repeat) (Oh I’m gonna get in trouble)

Please oh please
Please oh please
Won’t you look up into my eyes
Please oh please
Won’t you look up into my eyes
Please oh please
I don’t ever take
You out of
My mind (F-Em)
I’ve been waiting for you (G-Am)
Please look in my eyes
I’ve been searching for you
Please look in my eyes
I’ve been waiting… (hold the G)
Please oh please
Won’t you look up into my eyes
Please oh please
Won’t you look up into my eyes
Please oh please
I don’t ever take
You out of
My mind (F-Em)
I needed you to stay
(Please look in my eyes)
You were taken away
(Please look in my eyes)
I’ve been waiting…(hold the G)
Now you’ve come and I won’t have to wait anymore
Now you’ve come and I won’t have to wait anymore
Now you’ve come and I won’t have to wait anymore
(extra verse)
Please oh please
Won’t you look up into my eyes
Please oh please
Won’t you look up into my eyes
Please oh please
I don’t ever take
You out of
My mind (F-Em)
I needed you to stay (G-Am)
(Please look in my eyes)
I was lonely every day
(Please look in my eyes)
I’ve been waiting (hold the G)

Lovely Afternoon

Lovely afternoon
She’s a powerful and lovely afternoon in the sun Gmajb Dmaj D7
She is always good company A#maj
She knows how to have fun D7
She’s a wonderful and energetic conversation piece
When she argues she convinces
She knows how to get things done
And she never has to worry A#maj Gmajb
And she never has to fight
And she always has a vision D# m / A# OR Eb m / Bb
And she always says what right Dmaj
She’s a powerful and lovely afternoon on the run
Always searching for the sunshine
She knows how to call the sun
She’s a powerful and lovely afternoon in the sun
She says that I’m good company
She says I am the one
And she said that I could have her
And I could not disagree
My heart it has been captured
And I have been set free
She’s a powerful and lovely afternoon in the sun
She is more than good company
She is brighter than the sun
To me

Good Guys on High Ground
03:09
|
|||
Good guys on high ground
Are pleading our case
Or so they’re telling us
With a smile to our face
Good guys on high ground
Never selling us short
Keeping us well informed
In sound bite reports
Now, I might well argue
I’ve got the long sight
I’m a little bit tainted
They say I’m not right
They say I won’t agree
I won’t give them the time (a chance)
But those guys to the right and left
Want to own me and they can’t
Who says they’re the good guy?
Take a long look around
Who’s clawed their way to
The high moral ground
(Break….)
Who’s got the good vista?
Who has the long sight?
Who claims the majority?
Who sleeps in the night?
It’s not that I’m skeptical
I’ve just been around
So I don’t believe them
Good guys on high ground

On the Wind
03:09
|
|||
On the wind
On the wind G7 +9 G7
Severed
Flow the thoughts of the day
Dis-engaged, wanting homes
Wandering aimlessly away
Happy to have the time away A7/E D7
A few of us stumble around
Having less time than we need
Gather ourselves up and forget
We see the day, the night
But not what comes between
I wander, I am free
I am not burdened, much, anymore
Except when voices
And conversations forced
Call up tragedies from memories deep store
My pulse raises, blood thickens, just from a tone of voice C7 C7E
How did I let myself get so wrapped up in this noise?
Why do I make these obtuse choices? A7/E D7
G7 +9 G7
But I really am
Eternally optimistic
I must stress this hope is eternal
The future is clear, not misty
Or witless
So let’s us go wandering out
In that border between
Day and night are meeting, they are not severed clear
And the thoughts of the day flow onward
On the wind
And the thoughts of the day flow onward
On the wind

I don't Play the Piano
04:20
|
|||
But I don’t play the Piano
The piano player is pounding away D(add9) then add E A 7sus4 D
She argues with the keys all day
She uses the keys to free her memories (C)
But I don’t play the piano D then no matches
There are many things that I don’t want to know
Remembering them will only make me grow
I only want the memories I chose
But I don’t play the piano
The piano player is pounding away
She argues with the keys all day
She uses the keys to free her memories
But I don’t play the piano
And she remembers G D
How, why, and what they said
Who they knew and what they read
How they eat and where they live
What charity is and how to give G A Em6 D
I can’t recall what I meant to say
I don’t even remember yesterday
I only want the memories I chose
Piano Break only the verse chords
I can’t recall what I meant to do
I’ve lost the way to how to see this through
I only want the memories I chose
But I don’t play the piano
I don’t remember;
How, why, and what they said
Who they knew and what they read
How they eat and where they live
What charity is and how to give
And I don’t play the piano

I don’t feel like being responsible
There’s a reason
For sitting out the day
There’s a reason
For laughing life away
I don’t feel like being responsible
I don’t feel like being accountable
There’s good reasons
For sitting out the day
There’s good reasons
For sleeping very late
I don’t feel like walking down the stairs
I don’t feel like being anywhere
Outside the window
The sun is streaming down
Below my window
The heartbeat of the town
I don’t feel like being responsible
I don’t feel like being accountable
